Are You Longing to See the Glory of God?

gods glory

As believers and God lovers we all long to witness the “glory of God,” and see His power unveiled. That is, we desire to stand in awe, and experience the revelation of the Great I AM in His true magnificence, splendor, wonder, grandeur, power, and brilliance. When a genuine manifestation of God’s glory does appear, it brings believers to the place of giving God the honor, admiration, praise, and thanksgiving due His awesome name. True encounters of God’s glory and power have brought many people into His Kingdom of Light. We are not talking about a religious circus put on to create a sensational show but rather Holy Spirit authentic worship, humility, adoration, while the power of God is unveiled. We long to see God-created glory in our lives, not counterfeit glory created by man.

Mary and Martha longed to see the true glory of God. Then their brother Lazarus died while Jesus was away, and they struggled to understand how anything good, especially God’s glory could come out of their suffering and loss. When we hurt and life feels discombobulated, it is hard to believe that God is still working things out. Yet Jesus reminded both sisters that if they would believe in Him and rely on Him, the glory of God would appear and be displayed for all to see. The two women believed, and just as Jesus promised, the glory of God was manifest as He raised Lazarus from the dead. Because of this, many more believed in Him.

It’s amazing how God used these sisters’ belief and reliance on Him to bring about the fulfillment of His promise. Just like Mary and Martha, we long to experience God’s glory, but during hard times it is not easy for us to hold on to belief in the promises that God has given us. Yet we must follow the example of Mary and Martha and work on looking to our Lord Jesus, even when we can’t understand what’s happening. Remember Jesus’ words: “Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?”

We must believe!

“Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God and see God unveil His power?’”(John11:40).
