He Gives Strength to the Weary and Discouraged

Sometimes in our Christian walk, we are confident and energized to keep on keeping on, as we stand dependent on Jesus, strong and firm in our faith. At other times, while going through the challenges of daily life or trying circumstances, we stumble over the weakness of our human condition, and we may feel spiritually or physically weary. At this place of human vulnerability, it is so easy for us to easily give in and faint, as the negative feelings that reside in our souls work to pull us down and keep us from stepping forward in our faith.

The good news is that, even though our feelings continually change, God is always the same – loving, stable, and committed to helping His children overcome their weariness and discouragement as they live in this imperfect world. He desires to help us move forward in our journey of faith with the gift of His mercy, strength, and faithfulness. We cannot conquer weariness and discouragement on our own. We need God to work this miracle! When we recognize our human lack: lack of strength- lack of trust-lack of power- lack of inner rest- then we will recognize how desperately we need Him. This recognition will increase our desire and need to seek His face. As we will begin to seek His face and wait on Him- He will soon restore our expectations and hope in His faithfulness. The Holy Spirit desires to plant powerful seeds of strengthening, positive, truth and hope in our minds and hearts.

God promises us, if we will hold on to Him and wait, He will gift us with a renewal that will increase spiritual strength and power within our hearts and souls.  This spiritual energy will lift us out of weariness, and lift us up close to God. We will be empowered to spiritually run and not grow weary, and find the strength to keep stepping forward without fainting.  It is His work to change us; it is our choice to wait, while we lean on, expect, hope, and look for the Lord’s deliverance. There is no depth of weariness or discouragement that is too deep for our Lord’s healing and delivering touch to reach. As we continue to humbly surrender our lives and plans to God, we will be given the supernatural ability to live a successful and victorious life of faith, while living on planet earth.

“He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted. But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired” (Isaiah 40:29-31).
