Through Prayer Cast Your Burden on the

“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you: He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved [made to slip, fall, or fail]” (Psalm 55:22) amp.

Prayer is the instrument and gift God gives us to release and channel our burdens onto His outstretched arms!  The many demanding cares that are a part of living in this world, sometimes pull us out of experientially leaning, relying and trusting in Christ to help us walk in faith, freedom, and liberation.  When we are concerned or fearful about moving forward in the ups and downs of life’s responsibilities, plans, hopes, and dreams, Satan will take the opportunity to tempt us to grasp for control, instead of giving the control to the Lord. Attempting to control things on our own creates anxiety, and keeps us from focusing on the truth of God’s promise to support, maintain, and work out whatever is pressing into our lives. When we forget how totally dependent we are on God’s help, we tend to take too much responsibility, and carry the burden. We were not created to bear burdens- we were created to walk in the liberation Christ gives, and trust that He will work out all things for the good of those who love the Lord. The Gentle Shepherd cares about everything that touches our lives, and lovingly watches over our every step.  Prayer is the way we release the anxiety and worry of our hearts onto Jesus -the weight is transferred from us onto Him-He can take it!  Coming into His presence is the key that unlocks our hearts, and opens us to His breathtaking peace and Love, which pushes out the heaviness and fears caused by our burdens- making room for Christ’s changing, sustaining, powerful Holy Spirit to conquer and defeat our burdens. He promises that those who accept the sufficiency of the Lamb of God, will be covered, no need to worry, trusting the process and will not be defeated by the weight of our burdens.
