Phillipians 4:8. "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
This is one of my favourite verses in the Bible. It is the passing comment of Paul to the followers of The Way in Philippi where he chooses to lay out a pattern of mindfulness for an individual believer to follow. He basically says 'capture every thought and make them pure". Don't dwell on anything but this. If we allow our minds to run amook and consider that which is unpure, we will be letting ourselves down. There is a way that with freedom and truth we can transform our minds and live healthy lifes.
So next time you disapear down a rabbit hole remembering something unpure from your life, capture the thought, chuck it away and replace it with something good. You'll find your life transformed into something beautiful.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, renew our minds and help us to fixate only on that which is pure. Lead us to thoughts of lovelyness and things that are excellent and praiseworthy. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
