Psalm 56: 3-4 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?"
It is in our nature to worry and be afraid as a human. And becoming born again provides us a new nature, a restored spiritual home that gives us access to all that we need to overcome the worries and fears in the world. Part of the knowledge is found within scripture, when I say scripture, I am talking about the book, the Bible. It has page after page of advice and method that we can rely on to change our physical and mental state. Invariably if I am in a mess and if things are falling apart, I am not reading my Bible. When I do, I almost always find a scripture that directly speaks to me and lifts me out of the mire. I have to remind myself that when I am afraid, I put my trust in God, whose word I praise, the one I trust and I am then not afraid. It happens physically and mentally, spiritually and emotionally. I recommend it.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you. Thank you for the Word written in the Bible to teach us and help us. Thank you that Your word is a lamp unto my feet and is trustworthy and delivers physical results in my emotional and mental state. Help me to trust you more, to have more faith and to know you better through Your word. Amen.
